The Simple Woman's Daybook #4

For November 3, 2008:

Outside my Window... Same snow as last week. Update:(5 minutes after I wrote this, it started snowing. It's really beautiful, but probably slippery.)

I am thinking...that I need to get more organized in our school room. I have not been keeping up with all of the piles of paperwork. I have large filing cabinets and no excuse!

From the learning rooms...We are studying Uranus, Neptune, and Dwarf Planets in science this week. In history, we are studying the Ancient Israelites and Jewish holidays. We will be writing some more poetry and letters to Daddy.

I am thankful for... an overflowing freezer

From the kitchen...PB&J for lunch (boring I know). I am thinking of trying to make some cinnamon rolls later tonight.

I am wearing... Jeans and a T-shirt

I am reading...nothing at the moment. I'm going to the library tomorrow and I'm hoping to find a nice stack of books for ME instead of just the kids.

I am hoping...that the Halloween candy is gone soon! Get it out of my cabinets please!!!!

I am creating... an Island Academy store, where the kids can earn Island Bucks during the week and spend them on the weekend at the "store". I have already printed the money and have bought many things to fill the store. I am now trying to decide exactly how they will earn it :)

I am hearing...the kids playing with a friend while they are taking a break in the playroom. The keyboard is being played by my 2 yr old in the background.

Around the house...floors to mop and bathrooms to clean (YUCK!)

One of my favorite things...bookstores

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...I might take the kids to the University of Alaska Museum. They are having a military appreciation day on Saturday - free admission :)

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you..
Aren't these strange? We bought them at Sam's Club the other day.
They taste kind of a like a berry, but the inside looks like a kiwi.
You eat them whole - the outside is NOT fuzzy.

Hmmm, I wonder how they taste? Strawberry & Kiwi taste good together...is that kind of what they tasted like? Interesting. :)
