Peaceful Day

Today, I decided to let my to-do list take a back seat.

We all slept in.
I took a long, hot shower.
I let the kids watch cartoons this morning and I read a book - for hours!
I took them to gymnastics, and I watched a movie on my ipod - how cool!
We ate pizza for dinner and I let the kids make their own trail mix.
They are watching a movie and I am doing a few little chores here and there, but for the most part I am just relaxing.

I needed today. I needed a break from life. I needed to not feel like I had to work on anything. Ok, so I still did the dishes and washed the diapers, but I don't mind that so much :)

It was nice to take a real break. Normally when we take a day off of school, I do it because I am so busy with something else that I have to finish. Today, it was all about doing nothing and it was perfect :)

What you need is a helper, some random family member to come for a couple of weeks and just be there so you can get things done. Then you can go to the bookstore ALONE, and lose track of time, and order a grande mocha with extra cinnamin and maybe one of those yummy cheese danishes...wait, who's daydream is this?

I totally agree.. a day off does help revitalize ones self. I hope you enjoyed it, as well as the kids. I think that may be what we do today. NOTHING! :) Have a good weekend.

Girl,

You need a day off or two.... if I were closer I'd give ya a third ;-)

Being that my "little" ones are "big" ones now and I'm trying to find my role/purpose + I'm the queen of being a "week-end" nap warrior, don't ever stop taking the needed time to stop and smell the roses of life.

So, here's a "huge" pat on the back; a hug & smile...take care and always have one of those days once a week... LOL

Take Care
