Day #2 of our Anchorage vacation, we decided to take a drive down to Seward. I am so glad that we did!! What a breathtakingly beautiful drive! It is one of the National Scenic Byways. There were so many places to stop and take pictures and just enjoy the view. I wish we had more time to spend, because we could have taken a couple of days.

We stopped at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center on the way down and the kids got to see moose, bears, elk, and bison up close. It was nice, but I'm not sure it was worth the $25 we ended up paying.

In Seward, we went to the Alaska SeaLife Center. It was a very nice small aquarium, but we spent 4 years going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which is infinitely bigger and better. The kids still had a good time and the view outside was gorgeous.

On the way back, we stopped at Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. We hiked out to the edge of the glacier to take some pictures. The kids got a little worried when they read the informational board which explained what to do in case of a bear encounter. The part about fighting back if you are being eaten by the bear scared them a bit. Luckily, we didn't see any bears on our short hike. This was probably our favorite part of the trip - and it was FREE :)

We headed back to Anchorage for the night.
