Day one of state testing is done. Ellie breezed through the 4th grade science test. She was the first kid done - my little overachiever. Three more days to go - Reading, Writing, and Math.
It is so funny - you could tell that it was a bunch of homeschoolers showing up for testing at 0845 this morning. It looked like a lot of people weren't used to being up and out of the house at that hour :)

We are a military family, homeschooling wherever the Army takes us. We are currently in Alaska, but will be moving to Georgia in the spring.

Ellie is 10 and in the 5th/6th grade this year. She loves dancing, doing art projects, traveling, and of course reading. She reads all day long, leaving a trail of books behind her :)
Kate is 7 and does 2nd and 3rd grade work this year. She likes to move!! She loves anything hands-on and doesn't want to sit for too long :)
Lexie is 5 and is in the 1st grade. She is becoming quite a good reader and is enjoying math. Lexie LOVES to talk, just ask her :)
Nick is 3. He loves trains, trucks, planes, and anything that moves. Keeping him occupied during the school day is a constant challenge :) He knows his letters and can count. He likes to work on puzzles and to play with math manipulatives. I am hoping that I can keep him busy and out of trouble while we're working this year!
Tori Rose is 1 and a half and such a joy!! She loves to play with her baby dolls, listen to music, and talk.

We are using a very eclectic mixture of curriculum and living books in our homeschooling journey. It is always changing, depending on each child and what works best for them. We are using a mostly classical method with a Charlotte Mason influence.

Jennifer, Glad to hear testing is going well...ours is in a couple of weeks. Wondering how it will go...hopefully better this year since he'll know what to expect. Last year was our first year doing it. He's smart but has trouble staying on task. Anyway, thinking of you all!
