Ancient Mesopotamia studies

This week we are starting to study Ancient Mesopotamia. The kids are learning about the different civilizations that lived there: the Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, Assyrians. They are learning about cuneiform, ziggurats, the Epic of Gilgamesh, and daily life in Ancient Mesopotamia.

This is the list of books that we are using for this week's study:

Hi there! Found you on the Mom's blog roll. My daughter and I studied Mesopotamia last year for her home schooling -- fascinating stuff! We have an incredible video library and we were able to check out several videos on the Middle East. (I could watch travel/history videos all day long.) My daughter loves to read, and fortunately THIS YEAR, she's finally caught the HISTORY BUG!

Nice blog! =)

The kids are really enjoying Mesopotamia. They have an added incentive to learn about the area since their dad will be going there in the next few weeks....
